I'd be surprised if you have no gearbox. Unoless there is a difference in US automotive English transmission and gearbox are relatively interchangeable terms. A quick Google for the part number didn't give anything helpful. Any makers plate visible?

There should be a makers plate somewhere on the box, that will give makers name/model id which will give you the ratio, if it's not on the plate as well. If you can take a photo of the box someone may be able to recognise it.

Where is it? I assume it must be under the batteries and requires removal of the step into the after cabin or the base of the battery compartment. This is a best guess based on following the (probably blocked) water pipe to the sink in the aft cabin.

If you are planning on going to sea I would strongly suggest keeping the twin engine configuration as being good seamanship. Failing that, make sure you have an auxilliary in case of engine failure.

Very interesting. I guess your prop shaft is longet than mine, I was told the largest prop I could swing would be 16" and that I would need 4 blades rather than the 3 I actually have.
