Not sure if we can be of much assistance, however, in Australia (quite a long way from the UK, we have a Fjord 24 that was fitted with twin Mercruiser 470 (170 hp 4 litre 4 cyl) engines - apparently quite popular over here, others fitted with single V8 280 hp Mercruiser.
